Sounds like the beginning of something HEAVY. Like, when things weigh 45 pounds, it’s eh, not that heavy. But when you hear, ‘please grab that 50LB SACK OF CONCRETE’ or some such thing, it just sounds heavy.
But that is how much weight I have lost in the past couple of years, mostly in the past 9 months or so. I’ve lost 30 just since July, which was only 6 months back.
And mostly all I’ve been doing is eating slower so I STOP EATING BEFORE I FEEL FULL, to let my body ‘catch up’. I thought that was a ridiculously simple (and quite unique and inventive) method of losing weight, however in reading a year-old Reader’s Digest from February 2010, I came across a tidbit that goes like this:
“Hot peppers raise your metabolism, but the real benefit of food with a little zing is that it slows your eating, says James Hill, PhD, past president of the American Society for Nutrition. “Americans eat too fast”, he says. “By the time your body signals that it’s full, you’ve overeaten. Eating slower is a good weight-loss strategy…”
How’s about that?! I don’t eat much spicy food, but the concept is there. Eat slow, or stop eating before you FEEL full. The pounds will come off.
A couple more interesting notables on the journey:
1. Fit into and bought a couple pairs of 34 waist Levis. 34s! And they are not tight!
2. I’ve been asked if I am sick
3. I realize I better start getting more muscle on cause I’m looking puny
4. My dear, well-meaning but viciously honest 15-yr old son, David, no longer tells me I’m fat
One thing I’ve been doing in addition to simply stopping eating before I am full, is taking African Mango. Dr. Oz calls it a ‘Miracle in your medicine cabinet’, and from what I can tell, it works. It helps to make the leptin in your body more effective in managing how full you feel, along with the added benefit of lowering cholesterol and other things.
