I didn’t realize how overweight I really was. Not until now, anyway.
Every time I see someone I haven’t seen in a while, they comment on how much weight I’ve lost. I love it, but I am taken aback that some people even remember how heavy I looked – so much so that even after not seeing me for a while, they still notice it AND remark about it.
I really can’t even fathom what the contestants on The Biggest Loser must go through – after losing 100, 150, 200 pounds! It must be amazing. Like people must not even recognize them anymore!
But, on to the point of this post….A fellow who comes in to the place I am at building web sites at recently started the ‘Brodsky Diet’ of taking African Mango and stopping eating before being full, and he’s lost some weight. Fantastic! I saw him last week and he mentioned how he was still losing, just not as much as he hoped. I hoped I encouraged him when I told him that I was stuck, have been stuck before, and to keep going. He needs to lose about 100 pounds.
So being stuck at a certain weight for more than a month can give you some pause, especially when on a journey you expected to be over by now!
My wife’s aunt said something pretty profound (or at least I thought so at the time)… she said to me, ‘Mark, you’re not going to lose any more of that weight (belly fat) by dieting alone – you really have to start exercising….”
And she is right! This week, I started back working out. I need to build strength, muscle and take off the extra pounds that simply won’t come off.
I have noticed that crunches are easier to do now that I’ve lose weight. In fact, almost everything is easier to do!
Well, 10 more pounds to go….looking forward to the day the scale stops just shy of 200. I can’t WAIT!!!!
Have a great day!
